BOUNCING BACK: Overmorrow

The power to rule and the massive responsibility towards our country and its people. The future of the students, parents, children, and each of us is in the hands of the government that we elect, belong to, and believe in.

As we can all agree, politics has taken the spotlight in every household. Hence, the phrase "social distancing" has a different connotation.

Do you ever wonder "then what?" after the election? As we are all obsessed and engage in something political, we sometimes cannot afford to look to our family members, friends, and other relationships we had, who opposes us.

The day after the election is always a mess, and it's not always "we" win if what we are fighting for does not consist of the future of our loved ones. We are not doing this merely for our egos or for something to boast about, but for the betterment of our land– Our Future

As the partial result comes out, some of us cry, are angry, happy, do not care, and some are even calm. Killing their lonely nights with strangers that they only meet online, at rallies, and so on, where they share the same beliefs and political views.

The deeper context of consuming the partial results is the war behind family doors. Eat each other's teasing in the morning and again before sleeping.

They say it's over, but it's just begun; we are now looking towards the bigger picture of our picture; where will it take us?

As we can see through the media, politician families criticize and debate each other about the results if they deserve it, are worthy of it, fitted to it, or even if they are serious about it.

Bitter political divides cause social polarization and take a toll on families and friends without exemption. In the end, families or friendships are broken.

We can experience being home but feeling homesick. Fake smiles and fake laughs play their part, and the longer it is, the fastest we forget who we are with.

Differing political beliefs is okay as long as you can recognize people around you when you are defending your stand.

We have choices and rights, and we are valued. However, it is not a reason to develop or promote disrespect, improper behavior, insult, and standing for and against one another, for we are in one country.

That is how democracy works. But it does not mean that we have to badmouth and malign one another to defend the candidates we support.

Winning and proving a point but losing a family or a friend is not an option. It is not JUST family. They are family.

In the end, it should and always be our families and friends above politics. We may find ourselves different from each other, but that is the beauty of life. We may disagree with each other, but that is how democracy works.

The election results will always mean life and death for so many people. However, we hope that all of us end with the same goal wherein whoever becomes president, congress, and local governments must do their job better to enhance and advance our country in every field, including schools and public safety.
