Having laptops is essential, for it makes one’s learning more convenient, especially now in the middle of the pandemic, where classes have shifted to online.

As students, we must learn to look after our gadgets. Laptops are also like humans; it needs to be taken care of to function in the long run.

But how can you tell if your laptop is overheating? First, place your hand near the fan vents. If you notice hot air blowing out, it is time to use the following solutions.

1. When using your laptop, make sure you have adequate ventilation. To provide proper airflow, position it on a flat table or, better yet, invest in a laptop stand.

2. Using intensive programs is one of the reasons your laptop overheats. To avoid overheating, make it a habit to close apps you aren't using.

3. It's not just from using your laptop that your laptop overheats; it could also be from direct sunlight. Avoid exposing your laptop to direct sunlight.

4. Use software to track and limit your laptop's usage, so you'll know when you need to cut back on your usage or to take a break and rest your laptop.

5. Check your settings and make sure that your power settings are set to "Balanced," since this will prevent your laptop from running at full speed all of the time and overheating.

6. Avoid getting dust in your laptop as much as possible, as this can get into the machine and cause it to overheat. If none of the previous solutions are working, it may be time to open your laptop machine, blow out the dust, or contact a professional.
