Eat, sleep, and repeat; for some, it has been their routine for the last three years since the pandemic happened. Being trapped inside our homes for a long period of time, who wouldn’t get bored with this setup? Just like how they would say that dolomite beach could cure our mental health, we might as well go travel somewhere that could give us true peace of mind.

Now that most cities and provinces here in the Philippines are declared to be in alert level one, travel rules and restrictions within the country are less strict than before. This is the perfect time to grab your luggage and reward yourself with a memorable trip.

But, before traveling, you must keep in mind that preparations are necessary if you don’t want a “drawing” trip. Here are some things you should know before traveling in the new normal setup.

  • Decide your vacation destination

Once you decide your desired destination, it allows you to set the mood of your travel and gives you an idea of what to include in your luggage.

In this new normal setup, we cannot afford a spontaneous trip. Deciding which destination you wish to go to will save you time and effort. Plus, once you have decided on your next sweet haven then you can imagine yourself getting immersed in that beach or winter vibe.

  • Research your destination

To finalize your dream destination, you must do proper research about that place and know the rules and regulations that they are currently implementing to fight the spread of COVID-19. You must also know how many positive cases there are in your destination. These types of things will help you decide on the perfect and safe vacation that you want.

  • Plan your Itinerary

Plan your Itinerary ahead of time. In doing this, you can save time, manage to avoid crowded places, and protect yourself from possible infection from the virus.

Check the weather forecast, whether it will be rainy or sunny so that you can bring an umbrella or wear sunscreen. In doing this, it allows you to dress accordingly, comfortably, and fashionably.

  • Pack lightly

Dressing up aesthetically has always been part of one’s travel. But, you must still consider packing lightly to avoid stressing yourself carrying heavy luggage. Make sure not to forget anything because that would be even more stressful.

Sort out your clothes to not take up too much space, and have a separate kit for your essentials, especially extra masks and alcohol disinfectants to protect yourself from the virus.

  • Take an RT-PCR test

Even though our feet are itching to go to different places and look for beautiful sceneries, or take a dip on jaw-dropping beaches, we must put our health and others’ safety as well.

Before taking off and making the most out of your vacation, you must take an RT-PCR test to assure everyone—even yourself—that you would not compromise other people’s health. If you are vaccinated, don’t forget to bring your vaccination card.

  • Quarantine

After taking the RT-PCR test, you must isolate yourself while waiting for the result to avoid further damage and being the cause of the virus’ spread. You must finish the suggested quarantine days and comply with all of these safety measures for the benefit of everyone.

Taking a trip will help you remember the things that you once loved. That is why just like they say it is better to be safe than sorry.

Have a safe trip!
