Jaeson Felismo, the vocalist of an OPM band, Nobita, shared the difficulties he had when he first wrote their hit song “Di Na Mag-iisa”, which became popular on TikTok and Facebook for its touching lyrics about finally finding the right person.

Halfway through writing the song, he decided to set the song aside for a while. The band settled and said, “Okay na ‘yan; pasado na ‘yan. (That’s okay; it’s already qualified.)”

“Hayaan nalang natin siya d’yan mabuo mag-isa. (Let’s leave it alone, let the song complete itself),” the vocalist-composer said while laughing along with the band.

But Mark Quintero, the band’s bassist said that Jaeson should watch wedding videos for inspiration.

Since then, Jaeson had a clear goal of continuing to write the song. Later on, the final song concept revolved around wedding vows.

After its successful release, Di Ka Na Mag-iisa had reached the hearts of many, including the vlogger-couple Christian Gaspar—also known as “Boss Keng”— and Pat Velasquez of Team Payaman. The song portrayed their love for each other, which led the couple to ask the band’s permission to use it as their wedding song.

Much to their delight, Nobita accepted the offer and was also asked to play at the wedding reception. They couldn’t get happier with the opportunity to use the event as the music video for the song.

“Binike ko talaga simula Pangasinan to Manila sa sobrang tuwa ko. (I rode my bike and pedaled Pangasinan to Manila in happiness),” said Lester Monegas, the band’s drummer.

The band expressed their glee over Di Na Mag-iisa playing at a real-life wedding, witnessing an actual exchange of vows and “I do’s”. But for them, what was more fulfilling was the fact that the song conveyed its purpose as it reached a wider audience.
