Lady Falcons repulse Lady Tamaraws with third straight win

Adamson University have collected their third consecutive victory— as they swept off Far Eastern University with 23-25, 25-9, 25-18, 25-18 in the first round of UAAP Season 84 of women’s volleyball at the Mall of Asia on May 14.

Adamson Lady Falcon Lucille Almonte was crowned as the 'player of the game' as she scored 17 points and 16 attacks.

Kate Santiago flaunted her offense skills for the San Marcelino-based team as she scored 14 points together with the 11 points of Trisha Genesis— of which seven points came from receptions.

The Lady Tamaraws managed to outplay the Lady Falcons in the first set of the game with a two-point score gap of 25-23.

However, Adamson straightened their play amidst attacking errors, which brought out a landslide win for the next round, leaving the Morayta-based squad with a 9-25.

Furthermore, the second set of the Lady Tamaraws mainly consisted of donut holes, which led to numerous unreceived attacks executed by the Lady Falcons.

Although Adamson was in the lead, their determined opponent was able to minimize the gap in the scores with a 10-11.

Striving to put the third set in their favor, the Lady Tamaraws have made multiple errors.

Soaring like a falcon, Genesis finished off the third set with a spike that made it more impossible for FEU to recover, now 25-18.

The Adamson squad continued to level up their offensive game in the fourth set, which eventually left no room for the Lady Tamaraws’ anticipation for a fifth set.

Almost like a déjà vu, Genesis concluded the fourth and final set of the game with the same spike hit and score of 25-18.

After the Lady Falcons defeated the Lady Tamaraws, they are now onto their 2-3, which leaves them in fifth place, and the latter onto 1-4— that puts them in seventh place.

The San Marcelino-based team will try to conquer once again as they face the Golden Tigresses of the University of Santo Tomas on Tuesday, May 17.
