THREE SIDES OF TRUTH: Fight or Flight?

Updated: May 27, 2022

On February 24, 2022, Russia started to invade Ukraine. The country's capital is covered in smoke, and the citizens are rushing into the streets seeking refuge, avoiding being one of the civilians the Russian invaders will kill.

At first, we thought that Russia would win this fight without a doubt because of its military forces and capabilities, but looking at what is happening right now, it seems that Russia is on the losing end. A defeat that President Vladimir Putin can't have; imagine being the one who initiated and had the first attack and will be on the losing end? He will definitely become a laughing stock and damage his huge ego.

After all, his possessive instinct caused this huge chaos that scarred a lot of innocent citizens of both countries and made a huge economical backlash to the whole world.

President Putin's Military forces and intimidation towards Ukraine did not waver the decision of President Zelenskyy, and that is to join forces with North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Russia is now on the losing side of the rope, and President Putin is dragging everything this long. He refused to accept defeat from a small country; he thought his capabilities and power were enough to take down everything at any minute. He didn’t foresee President Zelenskyy and the citizens of Ukraine; their unstinting willingness to protect their country at all costs, while the Russian military doesn't have the eagerness to fight because they know they are fighting purely for nothing.

This conflict is a fight or flight situation. Indeed, we all know who is ready to fight and who is fit to reluctantly fly. This war is not worth sacrificing; too many innocent lives are at stake, just for what? A huge ego? A bruised heart of a sentimental man who cannot accept change? A man who doesn't have sympathy for humanity? A leader who chooses violence and drowns in uncompetitiveness?

The bravest man is a man who can accept defeat. That is not a form of cowardice but a sign of courage. This conflict will only end if the man behind this will finally wave his white flag, retreat, and put down their weapons for a good talk. A heart-to-heart conversation, a willing ears to listen will save them and their citizens from this catastrophic event.
